Review of Gosford Park (2001) by Calvin C — 03 Feb 2015
A classic Altman picture, with a large ensemble, multiple storylines, overlapping dialogue and a story that is more than just about a murder, but the social class within the house the story is set in. The camera moves as if it was a fly in the room, weaving in and out and listening in on the servants and the rich, which makes the movie always interesting. This is one of Altman's more enjoyable films and it also helps when you have a cast of esteemed British actors in front of the camera.
Grade: A-.
