Review of Goon (2012) by Paul D — 24 Nov 2012
Whenever I see Sean William Scott I think of Stiffler. This is his best role since then and one of my favorite films of the year. Not only is Sean William Scott funny in this he has some serious range and just seems like a real person.
This film's cast, the chemistry between Sean William Scott and Allison Pill, the confrontation between Scott and Liev Schrieber, and raunchy comedy (a lot of it coming from Jay Baruchel) along with some other nice things.
I could not find anything wrong with the film and it is one of the best comedies of the year (along with 21 Jump Street and American Reunion). Sean William Scott (you know who Stiffler is, right?), Jay Baruchel (She's My League, Knocked Up, and Almost Famous), Liev Schrieber (Cotton from the Scream series), Allison Pill (Kim from Scott Pilgrim vs the world), the great Eugene Levy, and more star in this sports comedy that will not only make you laugh but also move you in ways you would never expect.
