"Goon" is a bizarre project. Not bizarre in its slapstick skeleton. Nor in its somewhat mawkish sentiment. Rather, it's bizarre with respect to its fearless facetiousness: An unfunny object/story dropped squarely in the funny trenches.
It has a fratty, bellicose way of asking, "What's my niche? And where should I look for it?" SWS delivers in a small arena, here, and it works.
