Review of Goon (2012) by Kris S — 24 Mar 2013
Super violent and vulgar, but isn't that what you ultimately want for a hockey film? It's really funny and has a lot of heart as well as Sean William Scott plays the tough guy with a heart of gold.
Great casting, it is nice to see Sean and Eugene working together again and Jay Baruchel is hilarious as the over the top, outspoken friend that worships hockey. Overall Scott nails it with a devoted performance that shows the many layers to his unexpected and sensitive character.
First time seeing Alison Pill (Eva) but I enjoyed her character, complex and quirky and odd to say the least.
