Review of Goon (2012) by David C — 24 Jan 2014
Sean William Scott plays a hockey-enforcer as they really are, without pretense of vision or skill or game-sense. They have toughness, a loyalty to their team and a willingness to do what's asked of them, which is to protect the good players, the scorers, from the goon on the other team.
Liev Schreiber ought to give lessons on how to do a proper Canadian accent, he nails both the accent and his most important scenes in this movie full of pronounced pugnacious performances and character-driven laughs.
Remember, it isn't hockey until someone loses a tooth, so try to enjoy this rather brutal comedy.
