Review of Goodnight Mommy (2022) by Tvjerry — 18 Sep 2022

This is a remake of a 2015 Austrian film with the same name/plot, so I'm recycling most of my review of the original  that applies to this one:

Two twin brothers enjoy an idyllic country summer until their mother (Naomi Watts) comes home from cosmetic surgery and nothing seems right. Don’t expect scares and shocks. Instead, this film is built on a creepy vibe that creates more concern than suspense. It’s a psychological thriller with a twist that was obvious way before its reveal. The 2 boys (real twins Cameron & Nicholas Crovetti) have a wonderful interaction that’s continually compelling, but the payoff, although slightly disturbing, lacks punch.
