Review of Goodnight Mommy (2015) by Tyler E — 10 Jan 2016
This is a film that pulls you in from the first frame. The film continues to transfix the viewer, even as it repels that same viewer with its increasingly twisted psychopathology, as well as its escalating, all-too-real looking juvenile-conceived bondage and torture.
Personally, I could not remain seated for the last fifteen or so minutes of the film and actually watched it while standing behind the family sofa. Not since "The Ring" (and that was a long time ago), have I watched a film with as many disturbing images that refuse to go away.
"Goodnight Mommy" is so creepy I almost wish I hadn't watched it. Which probably means you should.
