To say I'm an avid horror movie watcher is a bit generous, but my affinity for the genre has proven to train me in the recognition of clichés. Contrary to some people, I found myself seeing only one or two disappointingly overused tricks in Goodnight Mommy.
In fact, I was very impressed with the delicate subtlety this movie gives away key plot points. Looking back on the movie once finished gives a very satisfying "aha" moment as you piece together all the things you missed along the way.
Though I had inklings about what was truly going on in the movie, I found myself second guessing until the very end, and that I think is the sign of an entertaining movie.
