Review of GoodFellas (1990) by Matt M — 25 Mar 2013
Scorsese's famous fast paced stylish crime drama Goodfellas based on Nicholas Pileggi's novel based on the true life of true mobster Henry Hill is perhaps the full realisation of Scorsese's kind of cinema, with its long tracking shots, gripping storylines with unpredictable twists and enough pop cultural references and music hits setting the rhythm of this exhilarating film to make this an influential violent epic that looks at the gritty side of organised crime in an entertaining way.
The cast is great, with some memorable performances, like Joe Pesci's hot-headed half crazy mobster.
