Review of GoodFellas (1990) by Erik B — 14 Dec 2013
This is the most influential film ever made. I know that Goodfellas was inspired by about nine thousand other films as well, but if we take a look at some of the greatest films and filmmakers to come since Marty Scorsese's masterpiece first hit theaters in 1990, you will find a slew of talented people trying to make Goodfellas all over again, with diferent subject matter (i.
E early Paul Thomas Anderson and current David O Russell). Many of those attempts have been pretty spectacular, but my first choice for rollicking, energetic turned nightmarish crime films will always be Goodfellas.
The style, the performances, the soundtrack and everything in between all compliment this zany, bloody portrait at the mob, in all it's demented glory.
