Review of GoodFellas (1990) by Oscar C — 15 Mar 2014
"As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster". With these words Goodfellas opens on a wonderful first person narrative on the life of a gangster. With these lines my eyes also, opened to just how powerful the storytelling in a movie can be.
Martin Scorsese's pure sense of style entices the viewer. One scene, in the restaurant is possibly the most beautiful single cut scene in movie history. Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta, and Joe Pesci are fantastic.
It is rare that I feel so strongly about a movie, but GoodFellas is without a doubt a classic and it continues to entertain with each new watch.
