Review of GoodFellas (1990) by James N — 28 Jun 2014
One of the few films that has a beautiful story arc while taking no weak or indecisive turns in plot, while always retaining a high tension every minute of the film (for 2 1/2 hours!). Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, and Paul Sorvino deliever larger than life performances with breathtaking realism and authority.
The way time and pride erodes away at the intimate gangster-Italian family becomes enthralling as you watch in horror to see friendships break with bullets to the head. One of the best films ever made.
