Review of Goodbye Solo (2009) by Dylan N — 17 Jan 2010
A raw drama about a happy African-born cab driver and white 70 year old loner who is rather depressed and suicidal. They meet in the cab for the first time and a friendship develops. The cab driver goes out of his way to help the loner, purposefully interfering in his life in an inspiring attempt to make a difference in a world that generally just couldn't care less about grumpy old men.
Both men wrestle with finding their place in this broken and complex world. characters are not A list actors, rather genuine everyday people who bring across genuine heart-felt feelings. rather slow film, but makes one pause and think.
