Review of Goodbye, Mr. Chips (1939) by Brian R — 17 Oct 2008
Robert Donat gives a wonderful performance in a film that is imbued with great warmth and humanity. It celebrates a notion of "Englishness" that has now possibly been lost, but more than anything it is a great story which has been turned into an exquisite and moving film, beautifully acted and directed.
Impossible to watch without a tear coming to your eye (at the very least).
