Goodbye, Mr. Chips is a pleasant little movie. The characters are all very likable and the story is simple, yet satisfying. However, since this film came out the same year as Gone with the Wind, The Wizard of Oz and Mr.
Smith Goes to Washington, it's no wonder that Mr. Chips got lost in the shuffle. And even though this movie may be a bit silly at times, it has a good heart and it's worth watching.
