It's stupid, far from a classic, with a weird plot and writing (as the film reaches its climax, Thompson, Mitchell and Abe Vagoda get admitted to an insane asylum and break out before stealing an ice cream truck), but it's harmless.
It's for kids, and your kids will probably enjoy its zaniness and Thompson and Mitchell's performances.
