Review of Good (2008) by Jill S — 11 Nov 2008
I must admit: The first two acts of "Good" left me underwhelmed. The quality was surely up to par, but there seemed to be a drag. But stay faithful to the film - it's final, breathless shot makes the whole thing worth it.
With that single shot, director Vicente Amorim justifies the film's slow, seemingly meandering pace. That's the whole point. Viggo Mortensen and Jason Issacs fully realize their role in the picture, not just as "actors," but as integral conveyers of the picture's message.
Watch this one with the right audience, and it might stun you.
