Review of Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson (2008) by Chris I — 17 Aug 2008

Good documentary about Hunter S Thompson and narrated by Johnny Depp. The film follows his life, when he started and up to his death, and it tells all this while using many passages from Thompson's works.

For those who aren't familiar with Thompson's work (like myself), it's quite the eye opener on how weird and crazy this guy was. There are some great stories throughout film, especially the whole incident when Hunter ran for Sheriff in Aspen and the 1972 presidential election.

The film lost some of its steam near the end after Hunter started getting old and didn't write as much (the film probably lost steam because that's when Hunter's life started losing steam).

Still, it's a very entertaining film and worth checking out.
