RE: Dick Nixon..."He was so crooked, he needed a servant to screw on his pants every morning." THAT kind of writing is the reason I'm fascinated by Hunter Thompson. I only remember the buffoon, whack job Hunter Thompson of the 80's.
This movie did a great job bringing him back to relevance for me. I hate his liberal, idealistic 60's drugged-out politics, but I love the way he sticks his middle finger up and isn't afraid to say F-You, and I really love the simple way he killed himself.
If all that wasn't enough, I got to see Kitty Carlisle and Peggy Cass in the same movie where a gang bang was re-enacted. Highly unlikely either of them was the unidentified woman getting banged, however.
