Review of Gone with the Wind (1939) by Mark M — 08 Feb 2012
So I finally watched the entire movie in one sitting. Sure it's grand and a sweeping epic, but it's also ridiculously melodramatic and annoying to watch at times. I can see why people would like this and I can also see why people hate this film.
The main character is pretty much the most selfish woman ever captured on film, which in turn annoys us guys. After actually watching the movie I finally understand why the last line by Clark Gable is so famous, because it's exactly what I wanted to say to her minus a few other expletives.
Of course this is one of those movies that would probably be way better if watched in 1939.
