Review of Gone with the Wind (1939) by Chris M — 29 Apr 2012
I honestly believe this is the most overrated movie in cinematic history. Frankly, my dear, I think it's embarrassing. It sentimentalizes the Civil War-era South, and it's blatantly racist, among other flaws.
Clark Gable's a great actor, but I just never saw the attraction to this movie. Maybe I'm missing a gene or something. It gets a couple of stars because it's got some beautiful camerawork in it, but that's about all it's got going for it.
