Review of Gone with the Wind (1939) by Steven G — 02 Oct 2014
It has a protagonist who is both sympathetic and terrible at the same time, and the story meanders. But everything works regardless. It's a triumph of style over substance. The performances are legendary, the music is soul-stirring, the cinematography is spacious and inviting, the romance is sweeping and tragic, and the film is compelling for nearly all of its incredibly long running time.
