Review of Gone Girl (2014) by Dusty W — 27 Mar 2016
Gone Girl more like I'm glad I didn't gone and go see that girl. Fatal Attraction 2 I mean Gone Girl although, I image that this is what would have happened if Dan Gallagher and Alex Forrest would have had a daughter together then Dan was killed then Alex had to raise the little girl and got remarried sometime later, and then became a writer, and this movie was about that little girl. But where Fatal Attraction was at least a decent movie with at least redemption at the end of the movie, this movie is having none of that.
*Spoiler alert* The plot of the movie was over complicated, she is a psycho who wants to setup her husband for her fake murder but where there is a lot of easier ways to do that she picked the most complicated way to do so. Where there should be some likable character there are none except the sister Margo and she barely gets a pass at that. Everyone is asshole or creepy has hell, the husband hates his wife for most of the movie, the wife hates her husband for most of the movie, Wife's mother what little of her is in the movie is a bitch and the wife's dad is a little creepy pedo feeling coming from him. The cop doing the investigation was ok in the beginning then starts to become a bit of a bitch though out, the ex-boyfriend played by Neil Patrick Harris was hurt by the wife but wouldn't say what she did then he opens he's arms for her when she want to come back to him, There is no redemption for these characters the husband just become afraid of his wife at the end, the wife is still a psycho, the sister is still hates the wife and no one is better for it. Where on paper this seems like it would be good plot for a movie for me it just falls flat.
