Earlier this week I wrote a review about Argo (2012) and how much I surprisingly loved it considering the fact that I don't like Ben Affleck too much. Though Gone Girl has a completely different plot than Argo (2012) and Ben Affleck only stars in it didn't direct it I was a little hesitant to see the film due to the fact that I'm not really a fan of Ben Affleck and his work. I eventually just decided to rent the film and I am seriously happy I did.

Gone Girl is a dark, bizarre, and suspenseful film that takes the mystery genre to a whole new level. Gone Girl is a film that starts out kind of slow but as the film progresses you just can't help but watch. Ben Affleck actually really shines in this film as Nick Dunne, and though I'm not an Affleck fan I think its safe to say that they couldn't have picked a better person for the part. However though Affleck was amazing in the film the true star of the film was Rosamund Pike's performance as Amy, she absolutely blew me away, I've seen a lot of films before but let me tell you I don't think I've ever seen a performance by an actress that was as good as this one. Rosamund Pike will absolutely terrify you in this film as her performance as Amy, in my opinion she should have totally won an Oscar for her performance in this film.

Gone Girl is a breath of fresh air in the mystery genre, you will have so many questions through the entire film, and what I love about this movie is that all of your questions end up being answered. Another great thing about the film is that it goes in a completely different direction than you think its going in. Gone Girl is just a flat out breath taking film thats lead out by an excellent cast and amazing film director. I've always been a fan of David Fincher his films are just great and with Gone Girl he crafts one of his best films he's made, I can't wait to see what other films Fincher has coming up in the near future. However Gone Girl isn't for everyone, though the films great its still very disturbing and extremely bizarre, if you aren't fine with that stuff than the film isn't for you. But if you are fine with that and are tired of the same old cliche mystery film than watch Gone Girl, you will not be disappointed at all.
