Review of Gone Girl (2014) by Amishjew — 28 Mar 2015
Did everyone else on this website watch a different movie than I did? Did I manage to somehow find only the first half of this clearly unfinished movie? I find that doubtful, considering the movie was almost two and a half hours long.
The first half of the movie was extremely exciting, because I was anxiously waiting for a series of interesting events to occur. However, with each minute that passed, I began to realize that there is no climax to this story, no conclusion, and no elements to relieve the tension in the buildup of the storyline.
Watching this movie to completion is very similar to getting "blue balls," for those of you who have experienced that scenario. You sit there, waiting, anticipating the epic plot twist that brings the story to its clever, dramatic conclusion.
But instead, the movie just sort of... ends. All the unanswered questions remain unanswered. Additionally, new questions arise, such as "Did the person who wrote this movie's storyline die halfway through writing?" and "How did over 800 people on this website get brainwashed into thinking this movie was complete?" If you have not seen this film yet, I do not recommend it.
You are better off watching just about anything else. There are movies you could find that are just as disappointing and waste less of your time.
