Review of Gone Girl (2014) by Amanda W — 24 Mar 2015
An incredibly well-acted and well-written film, and it looks absolutely beautiful. It's dark and disturbing, and the creepy musical score compliments the mood perfectly. The story takes many twists and turns, and will manage to keep you on the edge of your seat for the entirety of the 3-hour run time.
I would expect nothing less from David Fincher. However, the film does lose some of it's quality on repeat viewings, because although the amazing performances and beautiful cinematography are still great to watch, there's no denying that the film is considerably more boring when you already know what's going to happen.
