Review of Gone Girl (2014) by Don T — 25 Jun 2015
Great beginning, tense and suspicious, with some great acting, and great characters in the sister and the lawyer. Ben Affleck did really well as the conflicted husband. However, the ending was so bad that it basically ruined the entire experience for me.
****Spoiler Alert*** I don't mind when movies have the good guys lose, or the bad guy get away with it, but it has to be believable. The ending here was so flimsy it bordered on ridiculous. What man would stay with a murderer who tried to frame him and his sister just because they might bet bad press, or because the woman threatens a custody battle for a kid that may not even be his.
Absurd...its too bad. I wish they would refill the ending and fix it. Other than that it was a waste of time.
