Review of Gone (2012) by Sara A — 01 Jun 2012
This is a humanitarian disaster. It's the Darfur of celluloid. I knew Seyfried's latest offering was tripe before seeing it. But like all train wreck catharsis I had to stand and watch it myself.
Allison Burnett has scripted a narrative that remains rooted in act 1 until the final two minutes. Whereby our cinematic water-boarding is finally brought to an end with a resolution to a plot that had not once been addressed in the turgid 92 minutes proceeding it.
