This is an excellent thriller. Well written, well produced, well directed, well filmed, and Amanda Syfried did some super acting. I haven't the slightest idea why the movie has received such bad ratings. I almost didn't rent the film because of the bad ratings. I trust professional ratings less and less. I'd say that reviewers, in their zeal to be clever and have themselves applauded, have lost touch with the audience they are reviewing for.
As stated, "Gone is an excellent thriller, well worth the 4/5 score I gave it. (No, it's not "Psycho," a definite 5/5, but how many thrillers ARE "Psycho?") If you enjoy thrilers, you'll enjoy "Gone." IMHO, of course, but I couldn't be more sincere.
