Review of Gomorrah (2008) by Nick A — 25 Apr 2010
Gomorrah is an italian gangster movie. But it doesn't follow the history of the typical mafia, it's more the modern criminal organisation.
The story sets place near Napoli. In the movie, we follow 6 characters. Don Ciro, is a middleman that distributes money for the criminal. Totò, a kid that dreams are to enter in the gang. Roberto, who works for a guy that illegally dumps toxic waste in quarries. Pasquale, a tailor that works illegaly for a factory ruled by chinese and Marco and Ciro, two wannabe gangster, fan of Scarface, that dreams to become one day, the big boss in their area.
This movie is a typical foreign film. It's long, there's not a lot of action, it's slow. But it's damn directed, the performances are good, and it delivers a really strong message. Oh... and the ending, awesome!
