Based on the controversial and honest book by Saviano, Gommorrah tells different stories this is a compelling portrait of the crime life of the camorra in Naples. The film is stylistically impeccable, with a distant documentary like style that makes the sequences look all the more realistic and hard hitting.
It's a little cold and perhaps not so accessible to the viewer who doesn't have a little background knowledge on the subject, but the harshness of the images is something close to revolutionary in the telling of the true life situation of true crime, shown the way it is and without any sign of cinematic embellishments.
