Review of Goldfinger (1964) by Juan C — 07 Mar 2010
This Bond film has all the blueprints of the modern action film. There is a lovable villain, his quirky sidekick, a wonderful car, zingers, Sean Connery and of course Pussy Galore. It is great to watch a film like this before these components became cliche.
The action sequences are also very watchable with the actors featuring no superhuman strength and the editor not addicted to speed. There are also remnants of misogyny that seem to give it a somewhat exploitation vibe at times.
