Review of Goldfinger (1964) by Dan E — 31 Jan 2013
This is when James Bond became James Bond. This is when the cool cars,, and gadgets came into place. The gadgets were great, and it was funny at times too. My favorite scene is when he defeats Goldfinger on the Golf course by catching with the wrong ball. That was some classic trickery that was awesome. This is my favorite one of the the old ones for sure.
Though you can't take it seriously at times it is still cool, because I think they did that intentionally. Sean Connery is the best Bond after Daniel Craig, and he sure does play that role perfectly.
Odd Job was very funny. I laughed every time he threw his hat, and hurt somebody with it. He is a classic villain, and is one of the most influential of this series for sure.
I fell like the best Bond films tend to be parodied in Austin Powers movies, like this one was in "Goldmember." Odd Job gets parodied in the first Austin Powers with the guy who throws the shoe. This was the film that started all of the things that made this series famous for, and the things that get parodied a lot. That is why it is the most epic one for sure.
