Review of Golden Door (2006) by Sky C — 04 Jun 2010
Perhaps it is a very realistic film about what the immigrants had to go through in order to maybe enter the USA and what kind of dreams and expectations they had, but it is also the slowest movie I've ever seen.
It was sad to see people so desperately looking for a better life, a bit shocking the way the USA promoted itself, so to say, through images of roosters as huge as men and stories about rivers running in milk in California, at times even tragicomic when Salvatore dreamt about holding on to a huge carrot together with Lucy while swimming in that milky river, but.
.. the film is unfortunately overall boring.
