Review of Going in Style (2017) by Colby H — 14 Apr 2017
"Going in style" is a comedy about three elderly gentlemen (Alan Arkin, Morgan Freeman, and Michael Caine) who are having trouble financially and decide to rob a savings bank in Brooklyn after one of them experiences a robbery himself.
Though many critics think this film squandered the talents of its eclectic cast, I actually found the film funny and endearing. Their stories are poignant and real and they are not simply hollow caricatures who are painted as thugs and criminals.
They have real stories, and it actually makes sense why they are committing this heist. The worst I can say about this movie is that it is a bit fluffy, but the multifarious talent of its leads keep the movie afloat.
I enjoyed the film and even though it wasn't legendary I still thought it was endearing ---------------------------------------------------- B.
