Review of Godzilla vs. Megalon (1973) by Gavin S — 08 Jun 2007

This is my vote for the worst Godzilla movie ever. The plot is crap--undersea civilization seeks revenge on the surface world for their nuclear tests by attacking Japan! The new monster Megalkon is an interesting design but a complete wimp and Godzilla gets saddled with Jet Jaguar, the lamest giant robot ever.

My favorite monster Gigan makes an appearance but his suit looks awful. With the exception of a dam that Megalon destroys, all of the destruction footage is from other movies. Seeing the Godzilla sliding dropkick might have redeemed it but it comes too little way too late.
