I'm a big fan of the classic Godzilla movies where Godzilla goes up against a monster almost as fierce as Godzilla himself. I haven't seen all of them yet, but of the ones I have seen, "Godzilla vs. Megalon" is the worst one by far. Why? Well, for one, the special effects are terrible in my opinion, they're not even good for the time (1973) when this movie was made. Two, it takes a long time for any of the action to even begin. And three, Godzilla isn't really even in the film that much until the movie lacks only about 20 minutes before it's over.

Megalon is a creature that looks like a huge bug with some kind of claws as its hands. But looks can be deceiving. This huge creature has laser power that could possibly wipe out planet earth unless a man-made robot teamed up with Godzilla can wipe out Megalon. Oh yeah, Megalon also has a fighting partner. I don't know if it's just me, but Godzilla even looks different this time around. Instead of Godzilla looking like an almighty creature that everybody and everything should fear, he's closer to looking cute and cuddly like a teddy bear or something.

I'm still a big fan of the classic Godzilla movies, but I sure hope none of the others are as bad as "Godzilla vs. Megalon." I don't recommend getting this movie unless you're a die hard, and I mean DIE HARD fan of the Godzilla movies. NOTE: That was my Amazon review from the year 2001. As you've seen, there aren't a whole lot of movies I don't like, so it has to be pretty bad when I give a bad review....like this one!
