Review of Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters (2017) by Jonathan B — 17 Jun 2018

I have to admit that the animation in this movie is terrific. It looks amazing as you would expect from a Japanese anime feature. There's also the stock anime melodrama and scale, both aspects that should suit the big green lizard well.

However, the meagre story and dreadful script disappoint and fail to deliver some much needed weight to the story. I understand that the intention is that this is the first of a trilogy of movies. Let us hope that the only way is up.
