Review of Godzilla, King of the Monsters! (1956) by Gojira54 — 05 Jun 2019
"Godzilla King of the Monsters" corrects many of the issues I had with the 2014 release and provides fantastic imagery and a fun story. -If you're looking for deep story and development in human characters go elsewhere.
-Though some scenes depicting fights between monsters are dark, the action is still very visible and able to be enjoyed unlike in the 2014 Godzilla film. -The monster action starts early and maintains an enjoyable presence throughout the film.
-Human characters are more interesting and contribute more without being overly focused on. -The special effects are good and consistant throughout the film. -If you're a hardened fan of the Japanese Godzilla films you'll find plenty of respect has been given to the source material.
-Music was fantastic and included pieces heavily inspired by many of the original themes from the Japanese films. -There are some cheesy lines in the film but nothing that heavily impacts the overall entertainment.
