Review of Godzilla (2014) by Draconalis — 17 May 2014
The plot was a mess of coincidences so that the monsters just so happened to meet up and fight wherever the main character was. And all that fighting happened off screen. I understand the human element, and I understand that a good monster movie is like... 65/35 human to monster ratio, but Godzilla was more like 90/10.
Speaking of Godzilla, he served virtually no purpose in his own movie. He was just there to clean things up so that the stars of this film, the MUTOs didn't go to the credits unchecked.
It was a terrible... terrible movie.
And they retconned Godzilla's atomic breath to be actual fire... and that upsets me.
