An entertaining blockbuster which would have been much better in the hands of a good director. Johnston the lead was great in Kick Ass but very bland here. Overall quality actors poorly directed.
The supporting cast was poorly used and some of the dialogue was just daft .The writers are the other weakness, Should have done lot better with the story line. It has the Pacific Rim syndrome of having the monsters fighting at night and in murky conditions as if they weren't confident in their own CGI.
Still enjoyed it but they should replace the director for the sequel.
