Featuring outstanding cinematic set pieces and deftly directed action from Gareth Edwards, Godzilla's thrilling spectacle of giant monsters are entertaining as hell when they have to be, and mostly overshadow the bland human characters that rarely serve as anything more than a geyser for expository dialogue.
