Review of Godzilla (1998) by Michael G — 13 Oct 2012
A unmitigated failure for both fans of the 1954 classic and the unsuspecting movie buff, the modern-day American "Godzilla" offers little more than stereotyped characters and by-the-numbers plotting, made worse by a lack of pace.
It is also a career low-point for Roland Emmerich, who at the very least managed to keep audiences entertained with his previous films (i.e. "Independence Day"). One can hope that Gareth Edwards doesn't fall into the same traps when the newest installment premieres in 2014.
