Review of Godzilla (1998) by Jake S — 13 May 2012
The monster's design really wasn't bad, it just had the misfortune of being "Godzilla," bringing shame to sweaty men in rubber suits everywhere. Ew, stratch that last part. I liked the idea of Godzilla being an egg-laying female, and I believe Cloverfield owed more to this movie than it would like to admit.
But Broderick should not have been cast in the lead role, and the monster shouldn't have been called Godzilla.
