There is nothing here to recommend. Absolutely nothing. This wasn't Godzilla, this was just any old generic monster attacking Manhattan. All the human characters were absolute morons. Matthew Broderick spends most of the movie with his eyes bugged out and mouth hanging open.
The effects were surprisingly bad. For a post Jurassic Park movie you would expect better. And what was with all the rain?
