I thought the CGI was cool, but was wasted on terrible casting choices. I'm a huge fan of mythology and this was an interesting take on Egyptian mythos. They clearly were trying to make this the action packed spring film but flopped horribly when audiences caught wind of its cheesiness and horrible premise starring one of the most badass actors in Gerard Butler as the villain?

Usually either the villain can cast such a great shadow on the protagonists that we begin to root for the good guys and their cause. Or that the hero is very lovable in the eyes of the audience that it makes us want to hate the antagonist for being so vile. It must be a yin and yang balance. Neither the human protagonist nor the Egyptian God actor pull of this role.

The various deaths in this story are also forgettable because it makes me feel like a lot was edited cut, thus losing its effect on such vital events. I was really rooting for this to either be super cheesy that it was entertaining like The Mummy or so badass that it was more like 300. Unfortunately my hopes were set too high.
