Gods of Egypt is a big, loud, glistering and overlong mess. Director Alex Proyas tried to make an entertaining epic, with lots of spectacle, but he failed on nearly every level. It's just as hard to buy into this world as something tangible that exists, due to overused and poorly done cgi and green screen, as it is to care about the paper-thin characters.

Add to that, awful direction, awkward dialog and a narrative as uninspired as they come, Gods of Egypt feels merely like a waste of time and money.
