Review of Gods of Egypt (2016) by Anthony C — 19 Jul 2016

From start to finish, a fantastic fantasy turn on the original mythic beginnings of the Egyptian era. A great fantasy action epic, worth watching if over the top cheesy action is your thing.

The film is great but not without its problems, Gerard butler being the only Scottish god is somewhat off putting considering everyone else is trying there best to make it sound like they are something out of a Charlton Heston bible epic. Some of the CGI looks terrible, something you would expect in the mummy 2..

Despite these facts its great to see Gerard Butler play a villain, with a manic and crazy passion but a calculated villainous attitude he makes a fantastic antagonist. That really saves this movie from being another Clash Of The Titans style Failure in my eyes.
