Review of God's Not Dead (2014) by Joel A — 08 Sep 2015
Perhaps unsurprising that a largely atheistic audience of critics wouldn't be a fan of this one! While it's a bit slushy and something of an advert for the Newsboys' music, there are some deep and powerful points made here that encouraged me and my wife in our faith.
The critics' response (e.g The Guardian's 'Ban this filth') only serve to make the point of the film more forcefully - we live in a world where individualism and cynicism are the norm and where stepping out in faith can be ridiculed and demeaned.
This is a great reminder to keep doing good things and put our trust in The Lord and he will make our paths straight. Are we trapped in a jail cell of our own making or are we living in the freedom that is open to us?
