I think the self-serving righteous indignation of the critics, many of which have not actually watched the film, highlights the ignominy of the public debate around the issues raised in the film. It is pretty revealing to the current climate, that this faith sequel received such a poor reception, despite some convincing and emotive scenes, just because it predicates a "conservative" view.

The film should be criticised not by how it offends the critic, but on how it tells its story.
